i bought 5 different but very similar swim shorts from Amazon, one from Lululemon, and this one (the 6″ inseam) from Avalon. they all looked good in the pictures, but i am returning them all except the Avalon because it is the only one that didn’t flare at the thighs like a dress when i tried it on. i guess a thigh that is thinner than your waist is called a “slim” fit in the swim shorts industry, but this is the only one that is anywhere close to fitting the way i would expect a swim trunk to fit. i was about to resort to trying some 3″ inseams, hoping they would not be subject to the thigh flare problem, but i am getting a bit too old to pull off that look.
recommendation: if you have abnormally giant thighs, you can just order the Amazon special and it will probably be just fine, but for everyone else, i definitely recommend these Avalon Classics trunks.
